Redeeming Your Reward Card

You receive your reward after you complete two simple steps: 1) Follow the instructions on the postcard, and 2) Pay your first month’s bill in full on your new plan.
You’ll receive your card within 3-4 weeks after we receive your payment in full of your first month’s bill on your new plan. You must remain on a qualifying plan for the reward to process.
Stay up-to-date on your reward status by calling (800) 233-5915 or by visiting Sign in to see where your reward is every step of the way. If we have your email, you’ll receive confirmation of when your reward is approved and when it’s shipped.
You’re enrolled on a plan that qualifies for a TXU Energy reward card.
Call (800) 233-5915 or visit within 90 days of starting your new plan with TXU Energy. Your card expires six months after it’s issued.
Oh no! Unfortunately, we can’t honor the reward after the 90-day redemption period ends.

Using Your Reward Card


Yes, visit or call (855) 816-9827 to activate your card. You can check your card activity and status anytime.
You’ll be asked to create a PIN during the card activation process, and you can use that PIN for debit transactions. If you forget your PIN, you can create a new one by calling (855) 816-9827 or visiting
The card expires six months from the date it’s issued. You’ll see the expiration date on the front of the card.
You can use your prepaid card anywhere Visa is accepted. Happy spending!
Yes. Visit or call us at (800) 242-9113 to use the automated system. Be sure to check the balance on your card before you enter the payment amount. Please do not mail the card.
Yes, if the merchant accepts Visa. You may be asked the billing address when making purchases online. Just remember that this is the address where your card was mailed - it’s also shown on the carrier that came with the card.
Use your reward card first, then use another form of payment to pay the difference.

The card won’t work at the pump. You’ll need to pay inside the gas station. Just let the attendant know the amount you wish to use, and you’ll be back on the road.

No. This is a prepaid Visa reward card that can be used everywhere Visa is accepted. The reward card is prepaid and can be used only up to the balance on your reward card. Remember to check your balance online at or by calling (855) 816-9827.
Yes. Some merchants may automatically add a temporary tip or gratuity for an amount up to 20% more than your total bill. Be sure your balance can cover the 20%, or your transaction will be declined. Only the amount you authorize will be deducted from the balance on your reward card.
If you’ve already activated your card, it’s possible that the purchase amount is greater than the card balance. You can check your balance at or call (855) 816-9827. It’s also possible that a tip or gratuity was temporarily added to your card that was more than the card balance.
